Jenny represents employees in a broad range of employment matters, including wrongful termination, discrimination, sexual harassment, sexual assault, whistleblower retaliation, fraud and breach of contract. While her practice focuses extensively on high-stakes matters for C-suite and other executives, founders and professionals, she represents employees at all levels. She has extensive litigation and trial experience in state and federal trial courts, as well as in arbitration, proceedings before administrative agencies, and appellate courts.
Jenny’s practice includes negotiation of employment, equity, severance, separation, commission, restrictivecovenant, confidentiality, and other employment related agreements.
Although Jenny is an experienced litigator, she also employs early counseling, negotiation, mediation, and other alternative dispute-resolution strategies where appropriate. This approach has resulted in numerous successful pre- and post-employment resolutions short of litigation.
- Negotiated numerous seven-figure settlements for top level women executives at national banks and financial institutions. Claims in those matters included sexual harassment, gender discrimination, whistleblower retaliation and age discrimination.
- Verdict after trial of whistleblower retaliation claims included significant emotional distress and $1,000,000 punitive damages.
- Negotiated nine-figure pay package for female CEO of a publicly traded company.
- Represented managers employed by a large public tech company in Silicon Valley with respect to claims for disability discrimination and whistleblower retaliation. Matter settled in the multi-seven figures.
- Negotiated seven-figure settlement in a sexual assault and harassment case for a woman singer.
Jenny has, over many years, been deeply involved in her local and broader communities through work with organizations devoted to the protection of individual rights, such as the National Employment Lawyer’s Association, the California Employment Lawyer’s Association, and the National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys. She has held leadership and board roles with professional and publicinterest organizations, including as Chair of the Litigation Committee and a member of the Executive Committee for Equal Rights Advocates, President of the Marin Trial Lawyers Association, and Chair of the Marin County Bar Association Labor & Employment section, among other organizations. She has also served as a FINRA arbitrator.
Jenny has been consistently recognized by her peers, including having repeatedly been selected as a Super Lawyer, a Top Woman Attorney in Northern California, and a Lawdragon 500 Leading Lawyer. She frequently speaks at conferences on a variety of employment issues and has taught deposition and trial strategies in various capacities, including at the CELA Trial College.
Jenny earned her undergraduate degree from Yale University and her law degree from New York University School of Law, completing her third year at Stanford Law School. Prior to working as an employment attorney, she served first as a prosecutor and then for many years as a criminal defense attorney, in which role she provided counsel to hundreds of clients in both state and federal court and tried approximately 28 cases to verdict.
